About
America's Hispanic and Native American populations are growing rapidly with them projected to account for over 30% of the US Population by 2060. The STEM workforce is not keeping up with these numbers though with only a little over 6% of STEM workers being Hispanic or Native American. SACNAS is an innovative network that aims to bring power to the people while building an inclusive community. This community spans across the US with 218 chapters and over 8000 members in positions from students, to leaders in industry, and everything in between.

At Oregon Health and Science University, SACNAS is a blooming chapter that was initiated by graduate students. Our focus is work to foster inclusivity and a community among Chicanos/Hispanics and Indigenous scientists at OHSU. Through this community we hope to build professional development, networking, and support within our membership.
We are open to any researchers at OHSU including students, postdocs, and faculty. You also do not have to identify as Chicanos/Hispanics or Indigenous to being a member of SACNAS!
